Memorial Day Weekend 2017


Kick off the summer season and join us on Saturday, May 27 for the opening of Lou Eves Municipal outdoor Pool! The pool will be open from noon to 8 p.m. throughout Memorial Day weekend. Enjoy a water slide, climbing wall, diving board, zero depth entry, shade structures and concessions! Lou Eves Municipal Pool is open from noon to 8 p.m. daily through August 14.

Active military and veterans can enjoy FREE access to the outdoor pool throughout the Holiday weekend!

The City of Mason would like to say thank you to our Nation’s active past and present Military personnel for their service to our country. Throughout Memorial Day weekend, past and present military are welcome to present their Military ID at Mason Community Center and the Lou Eves Municipal for free access throughout the weekend as well as the City of Mason Golf Center for a free round of golf.

(CAC, VIC, DD214, Certificate of Service, Dependent/Spouse Military ID and Retired Military ID are acceptable forms of identification.)

The public is invited to a Memorial Day ceremony and parade in Mason on Monday, May 29, 2017. A Memorial Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the American Legion Hall Post 194 at 401 Reading Road. The parade will travel north on Reading Road and Main Street then head south on Mason-Montgomery Road before concluding at the Mason Veterans Memorial.

The parade will be followed by a ceremony at the Mason Veterans Memorial beginning at approximately 11:00 a.m. with featured guest speaker William Patric Leedom, a 34-year Navy veteran. The Grand Marshal for this year’s parade will be Arthur Katz, a WWII veteran. Following the ceremony, the public is invited to attend a luncheon at the American Legion post 194, located at 401 Reading Road.
