Mason's strategic location between two interstates is furthered by two direct interchanges on I-71 at Western Row Road and at State Route 741/Kings Mills Road. More than 90 corporations have headquarters or manufacturing operations in Mason's 17 commerce parks. Mason's Economic Development Office is a full-service agency providing development support and technical assistance to relocating and expanding corporations since 1995. Commitment to seamless operational transition is a priority. Mason City Council has dedicated full-time development professionals to identify opportunities and remove obstacles to business success. In 2003, Mason City Council added a downtown and small business component to the Economic Development Office to further enhance business opportunities in the city.
The Economic Development Office serves as a liaison to businesses, including Procter & Gamble Health Care Research Center, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive America, Cintas Corporation, Paramount's Kings Island, and Luxottica North American Headquarters. It also facilitates communications among businesses and municipal departments to continually improve service delivery. Programming is in place to facilitate direct response and comprehensive problem-solving for corporate partners through the city's Business Assistance Team. City of Mason professionals, along with Council, are dedicated to business development to enhance the working relationships between businesses and government.
The Downtown/Small Business Coordinator will provide the city with the ability to outreach to a broader scope of businesses within the city,specifically addressing the economic vitality of "downtown" Mason.
